Here I document something I figured was possible but only tested recently. The "bell glitch" that can happen in FEZ is usually an annoyance for runners, since when it happens, you need to waste a little bit of time rotating in order for the bell code to work. But if you plan it carefully, you can actually use that to your advantage to skip one of the bell faces and potentially save time.

By pressing the interact button exactly 13 times on the "10" face, you ring the bell 10 times to get the anti cube, but those three extra presses get stored in memory somehow. Upon resetting the run and reentering the bell tower, those three presses reemerge and ring the "3" face of the bell three times. That can be used to skip that face entirely and only enter the rest of the faces.

The rules of the FEZ Any% speedrun bans the use of "save state manipulation", aka storing some state of the game across a reset of the run. Normally, bell glitch is fine since it doesn't lose any time, but I think this intentional usage of the bell glitch to save entering in one of the faces would constitute save state manipulation and therefore invalidate a run. I'm curious how others think about this.
