I also banned Magic Hammer, the Elemental Materia and any equipment that will null or absorb elemental attacks.

In other words, this should be quite a fight, and it sure is. Attack pattern goes like this:

Turn 1-3: Fire and Ice Breath
Turn 4-5: Nothing
Turn 6: 2x Double Breath
Repeat

Furthermore, the fire head counters every 5th attack with an earth elemental attack and the ice head counters every 6th attack with the same attack. Both heads uses a lightning elemental attack when they are defeated. In other words, you need a solid strategy to deal with all of this.

In the LLNMIENA Challenge, I would simply wait until they ran out of MP before I killed them so that wouldn't have to deal with the earth counter, but looking back at that now, I don't really see the point. There's plenty of time to deal with it during the two turns when they do nothing. I decided to use Right Arms for dealing damage in this battle, because with 18k HP, it's really not cheap at all. Besides, it's no point dragging this battle on forever with a weaker item, because it is somewhat luck reliant.

The biggest problem with this battle is Schizo's ability to attack twice every turn. A normal breath deals about 1000 damage, but we can reduce this to about 180 with Sadness, MBarrier and Dragon Armlets, which reduces Ice, Fire and Lightning damage by 50%. However, poor little Cloud has only got 280 HP, so it's a good idea to make sure he doesn't get double attacked. It's only a 1/9 chance, and they're only gonna be able to do it six times, but it's always a good idea to avoid having to avoid bad luck. This can be done by setting ATB to Wait and time opening the menu correctly. It's hard to explain exactly how to do it, and it's also hard to pull it off every single turn, but it works.

The most critical part of the battle is the double breath turn. No one can survive a double double breath, so it's very important to be able to pull off the Wait trick here. It's also hard to know exactly when they're going to attack. When you mess around with ATB system that much, their turns can get messed up and no longer coincide. However, there is one more problem. It deals more than 280 damage. I gave Cloud the Talisman and several green and red materia to boost his Spirit, but it wasn't enough. It would deal less than 280 most of the time, but not always, which I experienced this time. Him getting knocked out is not necessarily the end of the battle, but it does make things more complicated. Especially if it happens the first time they use double breaths.

Another tricky thing about this battle is keeping track of everything. In all this excitement, you could end up thinking "did they attack five times or six?". It's easier to keep track of your attacks, since you can see how many Right Arms you've got left. I'm sure you can figure out why I used that one Fire Veil.

So, even though there is some luck involved, I'm really satisfied with this battle, and I'm certainly going to do some changes to the LLNMIENA FAQ. And yes, I did have to go all the way back to Bone Village to do shopping before this battle. That was fun.

L1 = Level 1
NAC = No Attack Commands
NLB = No Limit Breaks
NC = No Coin
