There's no way around Lapis Laser, so I had to use Magic Hammer here, but I banned HP Plus to make it more interesting.

Before this battle, I decided to redo Schizo and get the Protect Ring, because it will come in very handy and there's no other way to get it in this challenge. I decided not to show Ultimate Weapon since I'm going to fight him later anyway, and you can set up your party to automatically win. Reflect Ring and Cover on Barret to make sure he gets hit by the physical attack and Elementals on Cid to make sure he survives everything else. No need to even touch the controller during the battle.

Then there's Carry Armor. Tifa acts as a tank in this one, so she gets the Protect Ring. Have her defend as soon as possible and then throw a Bolt Plume to reduce the chance of Arm Grab being used to 1/128. It's not the end of the battle if one of the guys gets grabbed, but you're in serious trouble if it's Tifa. The rest of the battle is very simple. I didn't use Haste on Tifa to make sure her Barrier lasted as long as possible, and she needs to defend at all times anyway. 8-inch Cannons are stolen from Submarine Crews.

After Carry Armor, you're not home safe until you've taken care of some more Submarine Crews. Before the battles, you can see what the No EXP code does to the game.

The first two battles are simple, but the attack from both sides can be nasty, and this is one of the main reasons why I got the Protect Ring. Without it, you're very likely to get killed here even with double HP. If two characters survive the first attacks, you can toss an 8-inch Cannon and Dragon Scales to easily win, but I decided to do it a little differently.
