FFX Challenge Run | Boss: Sin Fins & Core (NSGNSNCNONENNENBB)
Definitely one of the most stressful fights because of no auto potion for Auron and Tidus and the triple back to back to back fights.
This is a NSGNSNCNONENNENBB Challenge Run for FFX!
NSG - No Sphere Grid
NS - No Summons
NC - No Customize
NO - No Overdrives
NE - No Escape
NNE - No "No Encounters"
NBB - No Blitzball
This is a FFX Challenge run! The goal is to get to and *try* to beat BFA (spoiler so abbreviated) under the restrictions of the above acronyms. Afterwards I will lift some restrictions and do the NSG Dark Aeons challenge.
This is all being live streamed so come check it out over at @ https://www.twitch.tv/ffxivmomo
Strategy: Switch in Rikku and throw a Chocobo Wing, Stamina Tonic, Al Bhed Potion and Light Curtains on Auron/Wakka(Tidus)/Rikku in order. It's very important that Rikku has protect which means she can survive a hit from Sin without dying. After you're set up use the command and get in close with Sin and make sure Auron/Wakka (Tidus) always Defend. Throw Supreme Gems, you need 6 to kill the fin. If Sin decides to
counter with his slam Auron and Tidus/Wakka will heal themselves. Sin might decide to use several in a row, which delays the guys. Luckily, they cannot die because of Defend, Protect and Auto-Potion. Revive Rikku if she dies when you have the chance and keep on using Supreme Gems when she has a turn. The guys Defend in the meantime. When Sin uses Negation on your party, Re-Haste the guys AS SOON AS POSSIBLE with a Chocobo Wing. If not, you can see yourself in a slam loop for about 5 hits which makes it almost impossible to recover unless you can pull out.
When Sin charges for Negation, he won't counter for one turn, so that's the time in which you can throw a Supreme Gem for free (two if Rikku is in Haste). Gravija is easily countered with Auto-Potion.
You need Six Supreme Gems and 1 Shining Gem to kill the Left fin.
Right Fin Strategy: Almost the same as the first one except because I did not have auto potion for Auron I switched in Khimari. I also prefer having Tidus sit out with full buffs (Haste, Double HP, Protect) in the case I get screwed over or make a mistake I can switch him in and pull out using the command without any worry of getting a game over.
Start with Rikku, Auron and Tidus and buff with Chocobo Wing, Stamina Tonic, Al Bhed Potion and Light Curtains. Switch Auron and Tidus out for Wakka and Khimari and do another Chocobo Wing, Stamina Tonic, Al Bhed Potion and Light Curtain. After repeat like the Left Fin. Go in a use 6 Supreme Gems. After he's low there's a few requirements before going into the next fight. Rikku needs SOS Haste equipped, Wakka needs Pep Talk equiped and both need to be in the HP danger zone and Rikku needs to be out of the party with Tidus in with Sonic Steel.
Win Sin is low drop a frag grenade on him (negation removes this). Make sure before you change phases you have everything set up or it's a game over.
Third Fight, Sin Core and Genais Strategy: You need to pray your Supreme Gems high roll here with the damage. You should kill
Genais before his first turn. This is possible. Hit Genais with Auron. With the Masamune and at low HP, he can do up to 500 damage. Switch Tidus for Rikku and throw two Supreme Gems to kill him. If you get lucky and get a third turn be grateful. If the damage of the Supreme Gems is not enough, you need to take a Venom which can result in bad things. Try to kill him as soon as possible before Trashing which is instant Game Over.
When Genais is dead, you will get in close combat with Sin's Core himself. Switch Rikku's Haste Targe to the Victorious, switch in Wakka with the Pep Talk and switch in Lulu with the Phantom Bangle. Sin only uses Gravija (80% of your HP) and elemental spells on all characters. So none of your character can die all with one attack. So you can just throw Phoenix Downs if they die. Kill this Sin with Fire Gems/Ice Gems/Whatever since you still don't want to waste valuable items for a boss who can't kill you. FINAL FANTASY XIV © 2010 - 2020 SQUARE ENIX CO., LTD.
