In this episode I give my own advice on how to succeed in Patch 2.4 of Final Fantasy XIV A Realm Reborn as follows:
1) Do not rush through the main scenario, it takes 3-4 hours to finish even when done slowly. Absorb the story and enjoy it as much as possible.
2) Shiva Hard and Extreme Mode - get it done when you get there do not skip to it.
3) Do not drop your current main to be the 'best ninja in the world' just because its the new class. Take your time to decide if it's worth switching to.
4) For new crafting recipes, take your time, do not bankrupt to craft the items. The prices always surge at the start of major Patches and stabilise later.
5) If you can increase your crafting stats before the launch then it's better do it now then after the Patch 2.4 rush.
6) If you have not finished Second Coil yet, you can wait for the Echo buff to be added, do not worry if you are not the first to get into Third Coil.
7) Cap the new Allagan Tomestone every week to buy the new gear. Casually it can be done by completing the Expert Roulette or its equivalent in the patch just once a day to cap. You can also cap also by doing the Hunt assuming it still applies in Patch 2.4.

8) Try to have your Myth capped before 2.4 launches. Just like the previous time, we'll be able to exchange the "old" Myth for Soldiery. If I remember correctly, the exchange rate was 1:1 previously. So that's easy/quick 2000 Soldiery to start the new patch :)
Rogue and Ninja Leveling Tips:
1) Do the hunting log at the appropriate level range about halfway through it. So rank 1 1-10 do at level 5, rank 2 11-20 do at level 15, rank 3 21-30 do at level 25, rank 4 31-40 at level 35 and rank 5 41-50 at level 45.
2) Do Challenge Log for FATEs, Dungeons, Player Commendations and Levequests for bonus experience.
3) Do FATEs when in dungeon queues, do not standstill.
4) Do the class quests at the right level so levels 1, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50.
5) Use your Chocobo companion if you are solo'ing, the support will speed up how fast you take down monsters.
6) If you have spare low-level gear for STR have it ready.
7) Use potions if it helps, like Poisoning Potions.
8) 1-50 Rogue/Ninja should take 2-3 days when done full time, it will take about 1-2 weeks if done for a couple hours a day without standing still.

9) Use Experience Hat, Use Exp Food
10) Log out pre-patch in Limsa Lominsa for getting the starting quest faster. :)
11) Take advantage of first-time bonuses for guildhests
12) Remember Dungeon Roulette bonuses when queuing for dungeons.
