Within FFXIV there are quite a few options and settings that frankly are not gone over through the normal playing of the game. One of those settings is the expansion of your inventory for both you and your retainer.

Typical, the FFXIV inventory systems has a handful of bags you can open up individually. However, by enabling this setting you'll have full access to ALL of your inventory at once, spread between two large tabs.

For me personally, this has been a much better way to go as my inventory tends to be cluttered!
