FINALLY got around to finishing this after a flash of inspiration last night. i love my catgirl
for context for those of you who do not play ffxiv (and even those who do because some lore of the races in the game is just. never really covered or mentioned), Miqo'tes are a human-feline people with two ethnicities, Seekers of the Sun and Keepers of the Moon. Lanayru is a seeker of the sun so we're only gonna talk about them. traditional SoSs follow basically the same rules of a lion pride, one head hancho man that basically operates as a harem until the previous male is chased out/overthrown/ or killed (although killing doesnt seem to be a common method because truly its just very extra and that sure is a way to make everyone in the group hate you if he was a loved leader!!!!!). Lanayru (formally N'shira) is my SoS Miqo'te girl who, obviously, feels stifled by her abnormally super isolated family and grows up knowing shes is pretty much destined to live there forever and follow tradition which makes her really not happy. she ends up encountering a lone male from the nearby Forgotten Springs named U'phel who has wandered out on his own to live his own life. N'shira is able to experience the outside world through him and his stories and ends up falling in love with him. She knows that if she stays with her family, however, she would not be able to be with him. Despite her disdain for feeling trapped, she does love her family with a fiery devotion. She is horrifically torn either way. U'phel takes this opportunity to (miserably fail at) try to please her by becoming the leader of her tribe and therefore allowing them to be together while staying with her family - killing her father, N'yahm, in the process. N'shira is mortified, and her tribe is equally such alongside betrayed at discovering that N'shira practically led him there. Unable to handle the guilt, N'shira finally runs away from home.
DONT WORRY SHE HAS A HAPPY ENDING she gets married to her epic husband Astaroth and gets to travel the world and be free like she always wanted!!!!
