Last Year releases a new balance patch since its new re-release. You can find the patch notes in the Last Year Discord. Essentially the balance was changed so that new players could have a better opportunity to grasp the game and prevent the fiend from snowballing. Though yes the Fiend has been nerfed, they're still very capable of making the kills.
