At SpecialEffect we use FIFA's Two Button control scheme
with many of the people we work with.
Using Two Button controls enables you to play using one joystick and two buttons.
In this video we will be looking at gameplay using Two ButtonControls, which applies to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC when using a controller.
To change your controls to this scheme, you can either do it just before a match when selecting sides. or, you can also change it from the 'Customise Controls' menu in the settings menu.
You can also access both these menus during a match.
The left joystick controls player movement
As well as aiming passes or shots
When defending, the 'A' (Xbox One)/'Cross' (PS4)
button is used for applying pressure
When in possession the 'A'/'Cross' button controls passing.
Whether you play a high or low pass depends on how long you hold the button and where you aim.
Using the 'B' button (Xbox One), or 'Circle'
button (Ps4), will control shooting.
Whilst defending, 'B'/'Circle' is used for slide
tackling and to clear the ball
When taking penalties, the left stick is used to aim once the power has been set using 'shoot.'
When defending penalties, left stick is used for Dive direction and 'B'/'Circle' dives.
Sprinting is automatic when the space is there for a player to run into.
'RT' on Xbox One and 'R2' on PlayStation 4 can be used in addition to do this manually.
When you select Two Button Controls, player switching becomes automatic when defending.
You can still switch player manually using 'LB'(Xbox oNe) or 'L1' (PS4).
In game modes where you are in control of an individual player, control inputs are the same.
Your player will still sprint automatically if there is space to run into.
'A' (Xbox One) or 'Cross' (Ps4) is still pass when in possession and applies pressure when not.
It is also used to call for a pass, whilst 'B' (Xbox One)/'Circle' (PS4) is still shoot or slide.
In matches in 'the journey,' two button controls can be used, but training can require more inputs.
In these instances, you can choose to simulate a training session before taking part.
