Fight in an AT&T Store!
Everyone in the store was cranky because the wait to talk to an AT&T rep was about 40 minutes to an hour (this was a corporate-owned retail location). The lady waiting at the front of the store pulled out her vape pen and started smoking. The buff guy seemed to be a U.S. military soldier. He, his wife, and his toddler were at the other side of the store near the door. As soon as he saw her vaping, he came running over, yelling at her. His reaction was odd: He started yelling that she was killing his child with her smoke, that second hand smoke was going to hurt his baby, that she shouldn't be smoking indoors, that she was a disgrace to all humans, and she shouldn't be allowed to be a citizen if she was going to put his child and his wife's lives in danger, and that he was going to kill her if she didn't "put it out"... but his reaction was so quick. She was probably 10 seconds into her vape session, about two drags in. The guy didn't assess the situation at all - he just reacted instantly. No warning: He just ran over and squared up, balling his fists and yelling at the top of his lungs. I've never heard a man yell so loudly. The man was visibly shaking and looked like he was going to punch the smoking lady.
On the other hand, it was odd to see someone who thought vaping indoors in a corporate retail environment was acceptable. But it was more terrifying to see a buff guy losing his mind over a vape pen that was nowhere near his family. He seriously looked like he was going to beat her to death until I pulled out my phone to record and his wife pulled him back. It was about 20 seconds of yelling before I got my phone out.
That's when this recording started and the manager came out. The manager apparently only heard the commotion and did not see who caused the quarrel.
All parties involved were "in the wrong". The way the manager handled the situation was also wrong (he tries to escalate the argument when she turns away and starts to pack her things).
AT&T: Bringing out the worst in people since 1983.
