Each attempt will be slightly different, though due to the nature of gamebooks, there will be sections that repeat. I'll skim over passages more and more as I go through parts I've read multiple times, so pause if I'm going too fast.
As you may have noticed, this book is extremely tough on hardcore hero mode. It’s attempt 23 and I’m only half-way through at this point, with the previous books I’d be done by now. It was becoming clear that high initial rolls were going to be an absolute necessity, especially skill and luck. It can take many attempts to get those rolls, and even then you can still easily die within the first two battles, which makes the re-rolling procedure a painful experience.
I got some excellent rolls with this attempt, so I decided to stick with them for a while, by making a bookmark. The next few attempts will be using the initial rolls I got here. The bookmark was placed where it says “loading”, just after the initial luck roll.
