Fighting Fantasy: Temple of Terror - PC - Full Solution - Optimal Path
A full playthrough of the TMG port of Temple of Terror. This is the most optimal, least risky route through the game. You’ll probably need a skill of at least nine, preferably ten, to make it past the Giant Sandworm, but apart from that the adventure isn’t too difficult on this path. Unfortunately, the Sandworm battle can’t be avoided. The other risky things you can’t avoid are the skill roll at passage 238 (failure equals death) and the luck roll in passage 257. Failing that luck roll means you won’t get the brass handbell, which will make the Night Horror encounter much harder.
I highly recommend using luck against the Sandworm, and conserving all your luck for that battle. That’s the main reason to fight the pirate in the tavern, as avoiding that fight costs luck. You could also avoid the Skeleton Warriors if you wanted, but you get a +1 skill bonus from them, so it’s best not to. Other than that, every non mandatory battle is avoided on this path.
