why? To get casuals and new people into it.

yeah a lot of games have this problem Imo, so I'm using guilty gear as an example

like, you want me to get invested in your worldbuilding, give me a reason then XD does everything "have" to be mk9" ... yes XD jkjk

and ok, I get arcade mode exists
but ngl, the arcade is just a warmup thing, and can work for shorter stories but like...
a campaign for one also helps new players become familiar with the internal gameworld and stuff, and because they'd force you to try every one, you get an open experience to try out everything,

so yeah... gimme campaigns XD

it also helps introduce new players to the genre, instead of it just being the sweaty top competitive rabbit hole, it helps ease new players into trying it out, with maybe a B-movie plot but that can be fun, remember fun?

like the way you interact with a campaign is just plain different than just watching a movie, like convince me, the deliverable is part of the experience ... ow well, angy boi yells at cloud
