Gameplay commentary:

If you take the North Path detour on this stage, you will skip Cave 1 and the Raft, and go to Cabaret 1. However, if you take the detour during Cabaret 2, you can end up right back at Cave 2 and the Raft.

Forest 2:

You can destroy a few extra enemies on the right of the detour before entering the North Path for some extra points.

North Path:

After you face a crowd of Monkeys and then Flies, there will be a crowd of Firewolves and Wolves; one of the Firewolves is carrying an apple. Make sure you know which one it is (it's the 4th Firewolf that drops down after the 1st wave of 3 Firewolves) and kill this Firewolf as right as possible on the stage, that way you have an additional health powerup that can be used during the boss fight. I like to bring him to the lower-right edge of the screen and kill him there, so I don't accidentally pick up the health powerup on the upper-right side while comboing him.

Diane boss:

Diane is one of the toughest bosses in the game IMO. I wouldn't say she's impossible to beat, but she can be very annoying and it's difficult to get her off of you. Plus she has some other advantages, such as invincibility frames on both her dash and dashing kick, and the ability to block in the middle of your combos.

One of the first things is I use up all the throwing weapons on Diane; if my health is low and I want to run back to grab a health powerup, I won't accidentally grab a knife on accident. Also, after you pick up a knife, before using it, walk away from the stash of knives laying on the ground, so you don't accidentally pick up another knife instead of throwing yours. On a related note, try to fight away from the health powerups so you don't accidentally pick one up prematurely.
