FINAL BATTLE! CLOUD vs SEPHIROTH!? (this ending makes no sense) ๐ Final Fantasy VII Remake - Part 9
52โ๏ธ Cloud, Tifa, Barret, Aerith and Red XIII get past the mad scientist Hojo's lab, with some tricky puzzles and failed experiments and monsters to face and even Sephiroth himself. Sephiroth steals the Jenova experiment, referring to it as "mother", the party chases after but can barely keep up and as they reach the top of shinra tower, President Shinra is hanging off the ledge, Sephiroth already dealing with him earlier. Barret saves president Shinra, but Sephiroth kills him and stabs Barret.. is Barret dead!? No, thankfully he's not.. but Cloud and the party have a boss fight with Jenova and I manage to summon the secret summon materia Bahamut, casting his ultimate "Nova Flare" ability to finish the fight. Soon after Barret recovers, the fates keeping him alive for his destiny.. suddenly Rufus Shinra, president shinra's son and the new president, arrives with the turks to face Cloud in an epic one v one duel. Cloud wins, Shinra runs away, but not before planting a trap that almost throws Cloud off Shinra tower. It's time to escape! With an epic scene with Cloud riding his iconic Hardy-Daytona motorcycle, Tifa driving a truck with the rest of the party, they narrowly escape Shinra Tower. While on the road, the fates surround the tower, as if protecting it. No matter, it's time to escape Midgar with an epic bike escape scene and boss! But just before it's all over, a new unexpected ending not from the original Final Fantasy 7 at all happens, with Sephiroth appearing to stop the party for one final showdown against a giant Fate Harbinger boss that makes no sense, then for no reason at all Sephiroth appears as the one winged angel for an epic final boss fight! Cloud vs Sephiroth, who will win? Well Sephiroth of course, Cloud isn't experienced enough.. but hey at least the fight was really cool, right? Then suddenly Cloud, Tifa, Barret, Aerith and Red XIII are warped outside of Midgar for whatever reason and start marching into the open world with weird references to Zack which is far too early considering the importance of his character to Cloud..ultimately the ending felt like some dumb out-of-nowhere Kingdom Hearts thing, rather than Final Fantasy 7 Remake, but besides that, everything else was done so well, and most full priced games these days barely last 10 hours while the Final Fantasy VII Remake lasted over 30 hours including every sidequest and all secret bosses, so I'll choose to ignore the dumb ending, because I loved this game and hope they make more soon!
After beating the game we unlock Hard Mode and can repeat any chapter of the game WITH our current level, materia and equipment. Pretty cool, but being at level 50, the max level in the game, there's not much point really.
