I have an very ambivalent feelings about those fake walls. On one hand, it is good source of secrets and it encourages to look for them. BUT on other hand, they were used there as "convenient" ambush spots for enemies (i'm looking at you, Chaingunners). But there is a risk of soft-locking at exit of level, if you don't enter exit in time, after hitting green switch - that last ambush doesn't help.
Five levels to go - but worst before me (lets see, how i will handle Mt. Pain)
