Thought I'd play some Doom for a change.

TNT: Evilution was released by id Software alongside The Plutonia Experiment as a part of Final Doom just a few months before Quake. Evilution was developed by TeamTNT and was eventually bought by iD in a controversial move, as the distribution of Doom mods was, and still is, generally done for free. This did, however, open up Evilution and Plutonia to a platform they wouldn't have had the ability to release for, as Final Doom was released for Sony's Playstation as well as for MS-DOS.
