Before Final Fantasy 15 or Final Fantasy 7 Remake, there was just Final Fantasy. The original Final Fantasy 1, published by Squaresoft (now Square Enix) is a classic. Not only that, but it has been re-released several times on various platforms, including the PlayStation 1, the GBA, the PSP, and even on Android and iPhone. In this in-depth review and retrospective, I take a look back at the title, examining, its history, influences, gameplay, and the legacy that this game still holds today.
