Pokémon Sword and Shield are easily the most controversial Pokémon games since the original Red and Blue. The controversy centered around the fact that there was no National Pokédex present in the game, instead restricting the player to ones found the Galar Region Pokédex. Criticism then extended to the graphics of the game and nitpicked every aspect of the game for signs of supposed laziness and cut corners. In this video, I examine exactly how this controversy came to be and why the online manifestation was the way it was.
