This is the one that killed me slowly, but surely, inside. I had no choice but to use save states to get through this. I tried initially to just save at the split of Jade Passage and Pandemonium, but it was so impossible, I had to pretty much do it floor by floor. And in the middle sections that were particularly dangerous, I saved more often. The problem was the Krulls (you may know them as Coeurls in later games). They kill you just by hitting you, and they also have a paralyze attack. If you run into them, it's a miracle if you survive. No joke, I tried about 20 times to do it the right way. I would get 45 minutes into a video, and die. I just got fed up with it.

My thoughts on this game? This version is trash. It is one of the most tedious, frustrating, infuriating games I have ever played. This is I think the 4th time I have done this version. I don't know why. Every time, I tell myself I will never do it again. I guess I wanted to contribute to Youtube. It's damn near AVGN material.

The remake versions are playable and not as buggy/flawed. It's the black sheep of the series, it's very different, and definitely had a ton of growing pains...just a step on the road to the masterpieces FF4 and FF6 were. Mostly I would recommend one of the remakes if you feel the need to experience every Final Fantasy. Even so, it's not a good game.
