Final Fantasy 3 Gameplay Demo on Android Ouya iOS DS (English)
Final Fantasy 3 has finally come to Android in English. This is my first look at the game mostly comparing it to the DS version that was released some six years ago.

FAQ:
Does this game run on 'X' device?
An easy way to check this out is to go to the Google Play Store through a PC web browser. Navigate to the game (direct link above) and then scroll down to the reivews. Follow the link that says "View All Reviews" and in the next screen you'll have an option to sort all reviews by only your device (note: you'll need to be logged into your Google account that your phone is on). This will give you a good idea as to how the game runs on your device.
Does this game support controllers?
While you could probably figure out a touch profile with the SixAxis driver, the game does not directly support controllers. This could change in the future, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
This isn't Final Fantasy 3, I played that on the SNES. Why is this different?
The first Final Fantasy was released across the globe as universally "Final Fantasy". From there Final Fantasy 2 and 3 were released in Japan with no release in Europe or Americas. Final Fantasy 4 was the first FF for SNES (Super Famicom in Japan) but to keep the continuity of the numbering system Squaresoft (now Square Enix) called it Final Fantasy 2 in western markets. They then skipped another installment with Final Fantasy 5 and released what is Final Fantasy 6 in the West as Final Fantasy 3. With the rise in popularity of the franchise it became clear at that point that Square would need to create numbering parity and released Final Fantasy 7 globally under the same name. Since they have been re-releasing ports and remakes over the years they have adopted the original numbering system. Thus what you played on your SNES was actually FF6 and this is a remake of the original Famicom (NES) Final Fantasy 3 which before the DS had never seen any official western release. Clear as mud right?
