10Story recap: Having earned the light of the paladin, Cecil triumphantly returns to Mysidia, much to the surprise of its residents. The elder reopens the Devil's Road, allowing the party to return to Baron. Yang is found in Baron, amnesiac and brainwashed into being a member of the royal guard. After knocking some sense into him, he joins back up, bringing along a master key to Baron. The key allows access to a waterway that leads into the castle.
Inside the castle, they encounter Baigan, who has been transformed into a monster. Having killed him, they confront the king, who turns out to have been Cagnazzo, Golbez's elemental archfiend of water. As the false king falls, Cid barges into the throne room, having escaped his imprisonment. Cid leads the party toward his hidden airship, but with powers granted to him by death, Cagnazzo causes the walls to collapse to crush the party. Palom and Porom turn themselves to stone to hold the walls in place.
Golbez has only one more crystal to gather. Kain proposes that they have Cecil fetch it in exchange for Rosa's life. As the Enterprise takes off from Baron, Kain meets Cecil in the air and delivers the message. Seeing no other way forward, the party makes for Troia to go after the earth crystal.
