Final Fantasy IX - Ozma
I had been playing on and off for a bit and finally got around to finishing this. You can face Ozma as early as Disc 2 if you choose to complete the Chocobo Hot & Cold sidequests as soon as you obtain the Blue Narciss. I generally wait until Disc 4 when you have obtained better skills and equipment. There's a bit of luck involved when fighting Ozma as it moves at least twice a turn quite frequently and its spells are potent. Guarding against Holy, Shadow, Poison and Confusion (Berserk and Mini can't be guarded against) are important and Slow can be countered with Auto-Haste or the Haste spell. If you haven't completed the Friendly Monsters sidequest, Berserk becomes deadly as that character is useless because he/she will not be able to attack Ozma because of it being out of reach. For party composition, Zidane is required (forced, actually) and I used him as an attacker (Thievery works well if you used steal all game) and emergency item user because of his high speed. After that, the members are your choice but I choose Eiko due to her wider variety of White Magic spells (Dagger's are more potent and she has better HP and MP) and the ability to summon Phoenix - whether she's active or KO'd. Quina is for White Wind, Magic Hammer, Mighty Guard and Angel's Snack (important to cure the Mini status caused by Ozma's curse that effect the entire party). Quina's Frog Drop (I didn't use it in this video) is great if you have caught a high number of frogs. Vivi is mainly for Return Magic but Amarant can also do this and also be a secondary healer which a Powered Up Chakra as well as Aura (casts Regen and Auto-Life). I see Steiner as a damage dealer (which Zidane does well) who teams well with Vivi if you aren't using MP Attack. Freya can cast Regen on the entire party and use Lancer to damage and drain Ozma's high MP count.
