Chapter 2: The Manipulator and the Subservient
Locations: Golgorand Execution Site
A fake execution to catch Ramza off guard. It's a trap! This is by far one of the most difficult battles in the game thus far as Gafgarion and several enemies attack you. Outnumbered, this battle will take you some time. If you brought a Thief with Steal Weapon ability, you can snag a very nice Weapon from Gafgarion, his Blood Sword. It's strength is equal to a Coral sword but also will suck the life energy out of whomever it hits and restore it's user. The vampiric 'Blood Sword' absorbs the enemies Health Points, the damage dealt restores the wielder's HP by an equal amount. This item is also Poachable, but you can't get it until late Chapter 4 via Poaching of a very rare enemy monster. If you're having a lot of trouble with this battle, you can access some random battles in Barius Valley to upgrade your party.
This is the Playstation (PSone classic) version also available in the Playstation Store. You can buy the PSone classic for yourself, playable on PS3 or the PSP version called Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions (an upgraded remake of the original game) for your PSP or PS Vita.
Plot Sysnopsis:
The Kingdom of Ivalice: forever guarded by the twin headed lions and by the sun that shines upon them... A year after the defeat of the 50 year war. The King had died from a terminal illness earlier and the prince to succeed him was only 2 years old. This meant his guardian would actually reign in his stead as King. The Queen's elder brother Larg was designated as guardian, but fearing an oppressive reign from the Queen, the parliament ousted the potential prince appointing instead the King's cousin, Prince Goltana, as the guardian. Prince Goltana and Prince Larg are both respected generals who proved themselves in the 50 Year War. Prince Goltana had the support of the powerful Nobles, but disinfranchised Nobles and knights clearly supported Prince Larg. The Black Lion symbolises Prince Goltana and the White Lion symbolises Prince Larg. This is the beginning of what will later be known as "The lion War."

Final Fantasy Tactics (ファイナルファンタジータクティクス, Fainaru Fantajī Takutikusu) is a tactical role-playing game developed and published by Square (now Square Enix) for the Sony PlayStation video game console. It was released in Japan in June 1997 and in the United States in January 1998. The game combines thematic elements of the Final Fantasy video game series with a game engine and battle system unlike those previously seen in the franchise. In contrast to other 32-bit era Final Fantasy titles, Final Fantasy Tactics uses a 3D, isometric, rotatable playing field, with bitmap sprite characters.
The game is set in a fictional kingdom called Ivalice, which has just ended its war with neighboring kingdom of Ordalia. The story follows Ramza Beoulve, a young cadet who finds himself thrust into the middle of a conflict, where two noble factions are coveting the throne of the kingdom. While the war was caused by a conflict of succession, Ramza was exposed to a plot that involved the kingdom's dominant religious organization.
A spinoff was created in 2003, called Final Fantasy Tactics Advance for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance, and a sequel to that title was released called Final Fantasy Tactics A2, and in 2006, a stand-alone title called Final Fantasy XII was released for the Sony PlayStation 2. All three games take place in the fictional land of Ivalice. An enhanced remake of Final Fantasy Tactics, Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions, was also released in 2007 as part of Square Enix's new Ivalice Alliance project. Overall, the game received positive reviews from gaming magazines and websites.
