Defeating the superboss Shinryu in Final Fantasy V (Pixel Remaster) using the White Mage Berserk spell strategy.


Strategy:
Use the legendary weapon Masamune (Class: Samurai, Freelancer; "Equip Katana" ability for White Mage or Mime) for absolute first strike and cast Berserk (White Mage Level 5 ability) before Shinryu releases his deadly Tidal Wave attack. The Masamune could also be unequipped and used for a Haste spell then re-equipped to fight.

The summon monster Golem should be summoned to block since Shinryu can only attack physically now and the summoner should be augmented with the Haste spell to get more chances to cast Golem as Shinryu is very strong and can break through Golem's damage barrier if the summoner is too slow. This is pretty much all the summoner should do.

That's technically all that is needed but the other characters can add to weakening Shinryu.

A character with the Mix! ability (Chemist Level 2) can cause Blind status with "Dark Sigh" (Dragon Fang + Eye Drops) and cause other status effects (like the Defense lowering "Turtle Soup" [Turtle Shell + Antidote] shown in the video).

The Time Mage was used to caste Hastega (Haste for all characters) but could be replaced if all characters had Hermes Sandals accessories equipped for a Haste spell.

Other armor and accessories to use are the Gold Hairpins to halve the magic points used and the Mirage Vest to cast Blink on the wearer.

For even less chance of Shinryu successfully hitting, the White Mage(s) could cast the Blink spell.

Revive characters as needed but don't bother healing as one hit from Shinryu will be enough to knock out a character.

Attack with the strongest spells and attacks and keep summoning Golem.

This is an easy way to defeat Shinryu with minimal training and preparation.
