In this part, there are mostly confusing cutscenes. Our heroes fight Ultros the talking octopus. Kate comes in to join our party, in a REALLY confusing cutscene that involves drawing pictures, contemplating suicide, and walking through Ultros.

In any case, Kate is now officially in the party, and our heroes move on to find the espers. Our heroes make peace with the espers, who are feeling remorseful about destroying the evil empire for some reason. General Leo officially makes peace with Yura, the head esper.
