In this part, our heroine Lizo tries to nurse her ailing grandfather back to health. Sadly, Granddad becomes Granddead, and Lizo decides that being the last human alive on Earth isn't worth it, so she tries to kill herself by jumping off a cliff.
Lizo's attempt to kill herself fails, and she sees a bird with Ridges' bandanna on it. Gasp! Maybe Ridges is still alive! Inspired by this hope (and with the aid of a not-too-helpful letter from her grandfather), Lizo sails to the continent where she reaches the city of Albrook.
