Classic Mode is pretty much a Story/Strategy mode. It basically plays for you in Classic. It is a much more accessible mode for those interested mostly in the story & strategy.
Still enjoyable, you choose when to use abities, materia, & items as your character fights. Personally, I prefer the standard new combat from my previous Demo Playthrough. Loving this game!!!
