I review Final Fantasy VIII a lot of people say this is the worst Final Fantasy ever. I disagree with the likes of XIII in my opinion being the worst. But this game does try to do several unique things focus on a love story and have an open-ended battle and customization system. Unfortunately it only goes half way and looses focus, ok have a love story that’s a good thing but have characters and reason for the love, hell the game switches focus on who the protag is at random and the guy we only play for a handful of hours is a lot better character then the guy we get Squall Leonard. And the battle system is both convoluted and to complex to understand, and if you do understand it easily breaks the game. Again compared to Sword Art Online games I have played not terrible but we could do better.
