I didn't have a real strategy, just used the three stars, 5 cheers, auto-life (just for insurance) and beat the crap out of this bastard. I sacrificed an aeon because I lost the timing and he was about to use Judgement Day, but it was a relatively easy fight, but have some luck moments. But it's perfectly possible to beat it without using any "auto" technique.
