Final Fantasy XV | Exp Farming (see updated description)
82UPDATE ► I found that it seems to be more effective if you return to the entrance of the dungeon after defeating the Malbodoom (or the first campsite if you need to use it, which is two rooms after Malbodoom). I don't think it's worth the time fighting the Sir Tonberry. By the time I reached the first campsite I'd racked up around 100k exp each time and it doesn't take very long to do this. (UPDATE 3 ► Apparently the Ring of Lucii DOES work on Sir Tonberry. I guess I just didn't try enough times!)
UPDATE 2 ► This is also good for farming gil (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-amuA7HFp4). The Voretooth you fight in this dungeon drop Sharp Bristles, which sell for 1500 gil each. It's very easy to rack these up while grinding this dungeon. If you want extra Sharp Bristles while doing the rounds, take the southwest (i think it's SW; correct me if I'm wrong) path when you reach the room with 4 doors. It's a dead end, but both rooms there are full of Voretooth.
* The 600k-800k figure is based on two 30 minute sessions in which I tried this method. In this video I got just over 300k and in another session I got almost 400k. The results fluctuate a bit.
This guide involves grinding the Daurell Caverns sealed dungeon for higher level characters.
What you NEED:
• Ring of Lucii
• Access to the sealed dungeons
Highly Recommended:
• Be around level 100 already
• Full stock of Ethers
• Maagho Lasagna Recipe & Ingredients
• Nixperience Accessory
For Additional Efficiency:
• Moogle Charms
• Applied Sorcery Accessory
• Friendship Bands
Okay, before you start, eat lasagna at a camp or in Altissia. Equip Ring of Lucii and other recommended accessories if you have them. Travel to Daurell Caverns...
You can use the Ring of Lucii on pretty much every enemy you encounter (except Sir Tonberry) from the entrance of Daurell all the way through the sealed dungeon until you reach Iseultalon near the end. "Death" works instantly on most smaller enemies such as Voretooth and Flan-types. Cast "Alterna" on larger enemies like Shieldshears and Coeurls. Use Ether to restore MP quickly.
The ring is not effective against Sir Tonberry. There are tips and guides for fighting him. As quick reference, parrying his attacks and using link-strikes seems to work well in general. UPDATE 3 ► Apparently the Ring of Lucii DOES work on Sir Tonberry. I guess I just didn't try enough times!
When you reach the room with Iseultalon, don't go in. Just use the menu to return to the entrance of the dungeon. If you go in by mistake, you'll have to fight him, but afterward you can still return to the entrance all the same. Note that the ring does not work on Iseultalon.
After returning to the entrance of the dungeon, you can simply go back in and clear it again. When your exp boost meter gets low, simply camp at one of the campsites you encounter within the sealed dungeon, but ONLY if you equip the Nixperience accessory and have the recipe/ingredients to make the Maagho Lasagna. If you do not have these and your meter gets low, just leave the dungeon and get the lasagna in Altissia.
Be sure to save manually each time you return to the entrance of the dungeon, before you go back in, just in case.
