This game felt harder to get through than Dark Souls 3. This game was not fun to me and felt all over the place and inconsistent. Personally I feel like this game didn't need to be made at all and leaving it up to "imagination" on the Dahl Space Station crashing into Promethia... like what happened? How did Fran die? How did Octavio and Anu survive a crash from space?
To keep it real I believe this game was rushed and left unfinished. I do also believe this game is the spitting image of what a corporation rushing its' programmers and devs n such to spit out content while everyone is sitting at home. Making a game on business terms and it shows.
This could've just been better as it's own thing and not tied to borderlands at ALL.
You may be thinking, but the characters from the other games are in this?... Yes that's true but every time the characters where either mis-represented, out of character, placed randomly, and barely there only when the Nostalgia B0n3r was required. the writing also lacked in many aspects as well as so much wasted potential. Why 8-bit the fight between Fran and her Sober Bot? Because it saves money and is the Business move.
If I were to give this game a rating I'd give it a 3/10 only due to the fat that this game made me feel things at times and I'm not saying it was good feelings.
I'd be more lenient if it wasn't a multi-millions dollar company making this. However that's the case and they clearly short-cutted, and rushed this game that was not actually Borderlands but rather the dumbest scientist figuring out how to ask questions and see things in a different perspective like some Miraculous Ladybug episode..... Then you have a character that's only smart when it advances the plot, and then a sexual predator in a wheelchair.
The game is filled with peoples fetishes, fart jokes, and a ton of sexual innuendos. The bases for comedy was definitely sex and felt like each joke was written by a high-schooler that attends anime club religiously and only indulges in Yaoi.
Now Verge... you're just being cynical and rude. Maybe yes maybe no. however I'm not like most gamers and actually have a taste for good games and whenever I come across one of these "executive business produced games" being released by a company that doesn't know how to save and allocate funds and feeds it to us like SLOP for the price it's at and given the current competition out... Imma criticize the game more roughly due to the standards I believe games should be achieving given their budget.
$200= okay you only had 200 bucks, let's see what you did with it.
$3,000,000= okay you have 3 million bucks, let's see what innovations where made, explored, or new mechanics not yet introduced in other games are made? (and many more observations will be made.)
As a gamer I have standards and if i'm served trash I will say it's trash.
BTW this game was nowhere near as good as Tiny Tina's which ALSO was made during covid.
