⛧(FINALE!) Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes #5⛧ "Let's just go back to that world of blood"
2And with that, we bring a close to the weirdest and most uneven chapter in the No More Heroes saga. Travis Strikes Again is an anomaly. Its gameplay is boring, its level design is uninspired, its pacing is virtually nonexistent. But its soundtrack, its aesthetic choices, every aspect of its presentation, not to mention the ideas it plays with, are all top-notch. I think the biggest point of frustration is how this game constantly insists on dangling more interesting games in front of us, ones that we just get to admire from afar. I want to play the actual Coffee and Donuts or see more of the Killer Marathon comic style in action, but unfortunately, we're always dragged back to No More Heroes at its worst. A version of the franchise where most of our favorite characters are absent, one where the interesting bosses we face each level are divorced from reality. I'm glad I played this, but I sure am looking forward to a return to form when we hit 3. Until then, however, play hella indie games. And thank you for joining me.
