Finally The Successor To C&C RTS Is HERE | Tempest Rising Release [AD]
370Do we finally have the true successor to classic RTS gameplay but brought into the modern age of gaming? Check out Tempest Rising on Steam now: https://sbx.gg/gamerzakh-tempestrising Today we have been sponsored by 3D Realms to take command in Tempest Rising, a game that we have checked out before in a demo and we've been listing and watching for years now because, of course, any RTS fan would be interested in how this was going to turn out. The game is available to play now with the Deluxe Edition but to see if it's worth it I'm going to jump in and show you what's in store. Firstly, this game has been built as a love letter to the golden age of 90s real-time strategy gaming. Two full story-based singleplayer campaigns are available with the two factions, there is multiplayer of course, and what's not always a given is yes, you can play singleplayer VS AI in custom skirmish maps. Gameplay so far in my experience is classic but with modern refinements and yes, units can exist in multiple control groups thankfully. That's a big one for me. Performance so far for me has been super solid though sometimes in the briefings the lip sync is a bit off, the visuals are overall impressive with regular high quality animated cinematics between missions, and bonus points for an extensive options menu, though I would like one more audio slider for in-game dialogue separate from unit response lines. Personal note, I really love how over the top the UI animations get in this. Maybe a bit cheesy but it really evokes the retro futurism vibe they're going for and the UI design for the two factions are distinctly different, which is a nice touch.
