This game is an odd one. When I first started playing it, it felt like a slog. Combat was slow, the dungeons were tedious, the grinding was real, and it felt hard to get motivated to really get back into playing it after a small break.
But, when I picked it back up this past Monday (Memorial Day)... It clicked. I went from only doing 1 bit of progress each day to doing every Dam AND a Dezolis dungeon in a single day. Then next day I finished 2 more Dezolis dungeons, next day finished the last one and leveled up to LV35, then after that finished the game. Went from not wanting to play it to beating it in 4 days.
I really liked the story, and sense of freedom after Climatrol was great too. I picked Shir as my Nei replacement since I liked her in the Text Adventures, and having a super fast item user in the group helped tremendously. Also used mainstays Rudo and Amy.
Might be a bit unfair judging this game with a lot of patch fixes, but I definitely enjoyed my time with PSII after a while. And I can recommend playing it with the Improvement patch if you wan to.
