There wasn't much left of the game so I decided to push through despite the issues and at least finish off the game, but it's patchnotes were clearly lying when claiming the run back was any different at the end, but possibly my save doesn't get the update because it was started and explored before the patch? The final boss is just a bullet sponge and very uninteresting but at least we defeated it.
