Ethan is definitely being portrayed in a certain way as he never has any emotions or expressions before he begins his journey to jason around the mall, at least he's not being entirely careless it's just jason runs carelessly away, can we jason our way through the game and jason past it's issues with controls that don't quite work and leave us reaching for our mouse and keyboard to perform the ones that won't work on controller, I guess if we jason about it hard enough we can see that jason reaching for the mouse is just like the character reaching further for something and it's just "extra" interactive and feeling more like we're part of the moment right...
