Lots of characters in Fionna and Cake are at a low point in their lives and a character that I think covers this theme in an interesting way is Prismo. He decides to fixate on other universes with his friend Jake as a method of escapism from his current life and responsibilities. However, this escapism is eventually what leads to friendship being forged between himself and The Scarab.
The Adventure Time spinoff / sequel series, Fionna and Cake has been a masterpiece for weeks now, so I'm gushing about it.
