In this chapter you'll meet Dorcas. He is a fighter, so he can use axes... but there are better units than him to use them. Dorcas has a fairly amount of hp and strength, but also a really low defense, speed and resistance.

Here, you must protect the place 7 turns. It's easy, just move Wil to the west and attack the mercenary who wants to destroy the wall. Move Lyn to the east to talk with Dorcas and recruit him, and finally move your cavaliers to the south with their swords equipped, so they could easily beat all the bandits.
