Just to make this more frustrating there are Gharnef clones on this chapter. You can tell if it's the real one if you can't do any damage to him. When you located the real Gharnef use Starlight on him a few times and he should eventually die. You can avoid all this and just capture the throne but you won't get the Marth's Ultimate Weapon: Falchion.
