To advance to the next Gaiden chapter, Tiki needs to die and you need to have lost the Falchion or have never gotten it by not defeating Gharnef. These requirements (while still retarded) are actually doable: Get the Aum Staff in this chapter's treasure chest, then give the Falchion to Tiki and let her get killed. Both her and the Falchion are now gone and you can advance toward the Gaiden chapter where you can simply revive Tiki with the Aum Staff. Both Tiki and the blade will now be back and you'll be able to go to the Gaiden chapter.
Note that you can't revive the unit you used as bait during the Prologue since the person didn't actually die.
Reinforcements will constantly pour in until you defeat the boss, thus making this chapter the last good chance to level up as much as possible before the Final Boss.
