Fire Temple, Part 3 | Zelda: Ocarina of Time 100% Walkthrough "43/89" (No Commentary)
We start out by jumping down into this new room and heading right to get to the nearest door, inside we get the Compass. We head back out and continue to follow this flame wall maze to get to the left side now. Once we reach the other side we encounter a fake door and dodge it (stupid keese). Now heading to the next door over. We enter it to find a long hall with the 8th Goron but we cant find his switch. Instead we simply cross the hall and enter the other door. Once here we encounter a huge fire wall and a nearby switch that deactivates it. We do so and quickly run to get across before it reactivates. We take care of another fake door to reveal the real door that leads to the first mini-boss. Inside we encounter a Flare Dancer, it dances and shoots fire all over the room if you arent quick, it will also skate around the room in an attempt to run you over. Our goal is to get it's core out of its fire body and attack it. The best way to get the core is by either using Bombs or the Hookshot. Once the core is out it will run around the room to dodge you before jumping back into the center to reform its body. From here we run in the opposite direction to cut it off and attack it. After we attack it enough, it jumps back into the fire anyway and will change color to Blue Flames. We repeat the process and it turns to Green Flames. Repeating the process once more will finish it, however on its final hit, it will grow larger and self destruct so get out of the way! Once we defeat it, we step onto the center platform where the fire was and are elevated to the next room. This room reveals another crystal switch puzzle for us, we pass the switch and climb up the nearby netting before dropping a bomb onto the switch and quickly climbing another set of netting before the fire reactivates. Now in the next room, we find ourselves in another room similar to the 200 rupee room. I suggest using Farore's Wind in case you fall. We then hit the switch and quickly (yet carefully) climb up the tiny staircase to get there faster. Here we are rewarded with the Dungeon Item, the Megaton Hammer. The Hammer can be used as a weapon just like the Master Sword, but is normally used to pound down rusty switches, odd tiles, and odd statues. From here we clear out the room and use the Megaton Hammer to pound down an odd floor tile near the entrance, and jump down the hole it makes. Down here we attack the odd statue with the Hammer from either side to send it away and reveal a door. Heading inside we approach the empty pool-shaped area and hit the odd tile with the hammer to create a staircase leading further down. Before going down the stairs however, we grab one of the nearby boxes, and use it to hold down the switch at the bottom of the staircase. In this next tiny little room, we hit the odd tile with the hammer to reveal another hole, leading back to the fire wall puzzle room. From here we pound down the rusty switch to unlock the door, and then jump back to the giant pillar. We nail the pillar with the Hammer to send it falling way down to the entrance to the Boss' Room. (It works as a sort of makeshift bridge to get there.) Now we head through the door that the rusty switch unlocked. Once inside we find ourselves back in the room with the 8th Goron. We also find his switch, rusted, behind a Time Block. We call the Time Block down with the Song of Time and use it to get to, and hit the rusty switch with the Hammer. This frees the 8th Goron and gets us our 8th and final Small Key.
