This makes it total of 135 Fireflies found in the main game, you need fireflies for achievement/trophy called Twinkle Twinkle when you release them in Ravensthrope to the pond behind Valka's hut/house. total is 16 that you can see hovering over the pond more than that we dont know yet, 135 from main game and 33 more called Irish firefly can be found all over Ireland
Assassins Creed Valhalla What you Fireflies for, i tell you, so far we know for sure that catching and releasing one in Ravensthorpe gives you trophy Twinkle Twinkle. if you catch 16 they are shown as ''decorations'' at the pond near seers house, more than 16, we dont know yet but i will let you know when we do
This will help you to earn your Twinkle Twinkle Trophy, catch these small critter at night, they do not respawn best way is to use ability called Blinding Rush (in Assassins Creed Valhalla this ability let you slow time and consume your stamina)

Open the item wheel and choose meditate at the bottom to change between day and night. It has to be night time. Run after the firefly (And use Blinding Rush to slow the time for easy catch), and catch up by pressing the interaction button (triangle/Y). You know you have catch'ed a firefly by quick sparkling around you, and pop up showing (you can also find these in your inventory if you have not released them yet
