In a region based on Japan, I've wondered why it's called the S.S. Anne. I'm not an expert on naval terminology, but i swear I read or heard somewhere that the S.S. prefix was an American thing, and other countries used different ones. Then again, until Game Freak started phasing out real-world references in pokemon games, Surge was called "The Lightning American", so maybe it was intentional. Or maybe I'm crazy.
