How to fix the black map bug in Firewatch. This glitch seems to be caused by any kind of game overlay, such as subtitles or screen recording software.

1) Open the map in game
2) Pause with the map open
3) Turn subtitles off and on again
4) Un-pause the game

If you have any software running in the background:

1) Alt-Tab out of the game with the map open
2) Turn the software off and on
3) Alt-Tab back into the game
