Firewheel F779 - Electric Unicycle First Impression
36I'm so excited that even if I'm totally sick I know I had to meet Chuck Chia that I know on Facebook to review the "Firewheel F779" Self Balancing Electric Unicycle!
I was previously very interested to get this Firewheel F779 but because it's pretty expensive I held back and wait for the chance to slowly upgrade to a better electric unicycle.
This is the first impression and not a full review as I only have a few moments with it.
Pros:
- The 779 Wh battery can last in theory 100km with the optimum road condition, temperature and rider's weight is AWESOME!
- The flat pedal with non-slip design makes it safer to ride in semi-wet conditions without non-slip tape.
- Two different riding mode for different pavement conditions, sport mode for rougher floor and comfortable mode for flat surfaces.
- The modes are spoken out with pre-recorded voices and do not need smart phones to switch modes.
- Built in front & rear lights, the rear tail lights also have intelligent brake sensor to brighten if you brake.
Cons
- Pricy at SGD $1700 after negotiation makes it a difficult choice unless you really need the range
- Casing design is too low to the floor making it hard to make tight turns compare to other brands of unicycle.
- It's hard to install a normal trolley handle bar but not sure if can install the Airwheel Pull Rod which I will update this video if it can.
- Without a trolley handle bar, 14.5 kg is really heavy if you have to carry it at crowded places.
- I am not used to the rocking effect of the comfortable mode but sport mode is also not exactly the same as other brands so it may take some time to re-learn how to ride but it's not difficult.
Overall, unless the design of the casing can be higher to make tight turns and with a proper trolley handle bar...the high battery life is not enough to attract me to buy Firewheel F779 yet.
However, if you need long distance traveling and have enough spare cash on hand...maybe this Firewheel F779 is suitable for you.
