When Buck Thunder's divorce attorney Phil, and weapons Kenny & Knifey sound like my mates in real life, how could I not love this game hahaha. It is definitely one of the best first person shooter games.
I love how this game started off playing a Buck Thunder video game and with a comedic tutorial built into that video game. Am glad the engaging wingman style voice while shooting carried over to the next weapon I shot with.
Played as Lizzie's sibling. We have the house to ourselves while parents are on a trip. An alien aircraft appears while heading out to get supplies for a wild party that Lizzie planned to throw. Hiding behind a parked car (I wasn't sure what to do here or if I had to do anything other than look on ha!) Lizzie & I witnessed one of the aliens kill a neighbor while another was suddenly killed by his allies.
I go to investigate the body of the dead alien (at first I was like am I suppose to do this ha!) and found a smaller looking alien weapon in its jacket before being spat on. Spit activated gun allowed us to communicate with each other. (I thought that was real smart) He introduced himself as the Gatlian Kenny and revealed that their planet is being invaded by Garmantuous and the G3 Cartel which plans to turn the entire human race into drugs. To avoid being captured, Kenny & I work together to escape Earth and warped our house to Blim City.
Needed help to fight the G3 Cartel, Kenny tasked me to find and hire the famous bounty hunter Gene Zaroothian. Found Gene, discovered that he became a crippled, homeless bum. Initially not interested in helping out. Gene changed his mind when he offered to make me a bounty hunter in exchange for the house if we die.
Now known as the Bounty Hunter, Gene gave his old bounty hunter suit. (There's a part where it spams pop ups wearing the suit and am suppose to go to the pawn shop to get it fixed but I needed a quick bathroom break in real life haha. Told a clown to move the sticks so that my character doesn't look afk or to make it look like I'm somewhat exploring the city. So, feel free to skip a few minutes when you reach this part haha. I didn't hear the instruction before taking that bathroom break but when I got back I couldn't believe my viewers were watching popups while walking around haha. Quickly figured out that I had to follow the arrows but honestly those arrows blend in with the posters that it did make me wonder if I was really going the right way. lol.)
Gene set up a Bounty 5000 in the house before tasking us with retrieving his old knife, Knifey from a G3 mercenary known as 9-Torg.
Travelled through the Blim City slums in order to find and kill 9-Torg in her hideout within the sewage plant. Encountered members of 9-Torg’s gang and fought our way through. Learnt more about Kenny’s capabilities, such as an ability known as the glob shot which shoots globs of goo at enemies and objects to solve puzzles and deal additional damage. (I thought this was neat and at times I forgot to use it ha!)
You may also find and use a number of other talking weapons, including Gus, Creature, Sweezy, and Lezdoit. Eventually, we found 9-Torg and defeated her. (Ok, boss fight was interesting. When I faced 9-Torg the first time, I lost. Second times a charm but was stunned to find out that it's a fake. When the real one appeared I wasn't sure what to do nor how to leave. I didn't know if I had to cut her down while she's tied and drag her to Gene haha as I knew I had to take something back to the house. Felt super awkward killing the real one and felt relieved when I saw the escape hatch haha.)
Ended my first hour retrieving Knifey and buying a dodge unit. I love the humour and it's a beautifully made game.
