On this episode of First Impressions, we take a look at the 2K XCOM that was originally meant to be an FPS until it received such a negative reaction that it was sent into hiding to be redeveloped. While XCOM: Enemy Unknown was a mostly faithful remake beloved by many people, The Bureau slowly became this tactical third-person squad shooter. Set in the 60's as a sort of prequel to EU, The Bureau focuses on an American-only XCOM defending the US from an alien invasion and pretty much uses a whole lot of game play mechanics from Mass Effect, without having a great story or interesting characters.
