In this week's First Look Friday, Karhu checks out Celestial Empire, an upcoming city-builder based on imperial China.


BUILD THE ANCIENT CITY
Design your dream city and admire its growing power! Almost all of our buildings are based on real, historical examples of ancient (Han and Tang dynasty) Chinese structures. Place buildings with many categories and functions, and then use the remaining space to decorate the city and make it even more magnificent.

EXPLORE CHINA
Play on one of the hand-crafted maps and visit the most beautiful regions of the Far East. Regardless of whether you prefer bamboo forests, coastal shores or snowy mountains, you will find a place for yourself.

PLAY SOLO or WITH FRIENDS
The game is adapted for both a relaxing single-player experience and more competitive multiplayer. You can enjoy this experience on your own, or invite your friends and start building your settlements right away!

DEVELOP YOUR COMMUNITY
Take care of the welfare of your citizens, meet their needs, make them happier and collect higher taxes. When they are really satisfied, they will be able to advance to the next social group, which will bring more diversity to the city, higher income, but also the need to provide them with even more resources.

PRODUCE RESOURCES
Create infrastructure, govern production chains and increase efficiency of your city’s industry. Plant crops, raise animals, extract raw materials, process them and obtain advanced products. As your settlement grows, you will need more and more of them.

SURVIVE WINTER
The game includes a system of seasons thanks to which you will be able to observe how your settlement changes over time. Take advantage of the abundance of summer to prepare for a harsh winter. Will you be able to survive?

FIGHT DISASTERS
As time passes, both natural and godly threats arise. Protect your citizens from catastrophes by creating specialized buildings or negotiating with the Gods. The Emperor counts on you!

MAKE DECISIONS
Take part in random events, make decisions and shape the direction in which your settlement develops. Each one of them has either good or bad consequences, which you will have to deal with. Also, be wary of Gods’ opinions , as they may like some of your choices more than others, or they may hate your every decision deeply...

MANAGE TRADE ROUTES
Create and optimize trade routes. Unlock new partners, get rid of surpluses, earn money or fill in gaps if you haven't managed to produce something yourself. As you develop, you will be able to trade with more and more landlords, which will increase the number of goods suppliers and unlock new ones.

WORSHIP or IGNORE THE GODS
Our game is full of Chinese mythology. You can build temples or tall pagodas to satisfy the Gods, who will reward you with unique bonuses. You can also ignore the Gods, but you will have to face the consequences of your actions. No matter what you do, the course of the game and its environment shall change accordingly.

IMMERSE YOURSELF
Show the might of your cities by building amazing monuments. Their erection will be a real challenge for you, so before you can do that, your city needs to be developed and prosperous. The end result will definitely be worth the effort!
