FIRST LOOK: New Soulslike, Enotria: The Last Song

Thank you Jyamma Games for providing me with beta access to the upcoming Soulslike, Enotria: The Last Song. I have been following this game since it was announced and I am so excited to have had the opportunity to review it early. I was not paid to play, review or post this content.
As a massive Souls fan, I can happily say this DOES feel like a true Soulslike. It has all of the trimmings; challenging combat, RPG build elements, similar HUD/interfaces, defined spawn/warp points to mark the beginning of new areas, Memoria which is lost upon death etc. To me it feels like a mix between Demon’s Souls remake, Lies of P and Sekiro in terms of combat, environment, and in the sound design.
Please bear in mind this is demo access - the game is not finished nor fully optimised so I kept in the buggy moments/crashes for transparency. However what I did feel was super clean was the combat and the sound design, it all feels so smooth.
In terms of my experience so far, what really stood out to me as new and unique are the following elements:
🎭 Multiple Equippable Character “Masks”: There are 3 Loadout Options accessible by equipping different “Masks” which give you varied abilities. You can change the weapons and items held by each build, as well as the Skills you equip via the skill tree. You can switch between each loadout super simply, pressing down on the D-pad to activate.
💨 Reality Rifts: Invisible elements which when triggered, become visible and can lead to shortcuts, access to items, etc (think invisible walls in Souls)
👹Mask Lines: Exciting weapon arts that you can mix/match and that build up upon each hit on an enemy. You can have up to 4 equipped at a time. Super fun to use!
🌳Skill Tree: The Path of the Innovators is something I didn’t get much of a chance to experiment with this time around but essentially it’s an expanded tree of unlockable abilities which you then apply to your chosen Mask build (you can mix and match these, they don’t apply automatically to all builds)
🍲Consumables: The consumables were so varied and fun even in the first few hours - plus there is MINESTRONE SOUP and Pesto as consumables? Like they really went all out with the Italian theme didn’t they???
